Assistant Chief of Mission Ambassador Mussomeli Congratulates Police Grads
Ambassador Joseph Mussomeli gave remarks at INL’s Regional Training Center in Jalalabad on June 11 to congratulate 263 new police graduates and thank them for their service to Afghanistan. The proud graduates from Ghazni and Paktika had just completed the 8-week Provincial Police Program. In his remarks, the Ambassador emphasized the importance of their mission and their responsibility: "You have chosen to serve your country and your people, and your service as police officers will help make Afghanistan a safer place."
Following the graduation, Ambassador Mussomeli had his first meeting with Afghan press. Nangahar press, including Pajhwok News Agency, Ariana TV, RTA, and Sharq TV/Radio, relished the opportunity to ask the new ambassador about U.S. assistance and long-term capacity building in Afghanistan.
