Learn about exchanges
The internet, global trade in goods and services, and achieving sustainability - the challenges and realities of our modern, global society make international education and exchange the foundation for progress. The United States created International Education Week to help build that foundation.
Exchanges are critical in developing mutual understanding and respect, building leadership abroad, and promoting an appreciation for American education in foreign countries. In addition, education is an investment in the future relationship between Americans and citizens around the world. International education prepares American citizens to live, work, and contribute to the global economy.
As International Education Week begins, the United States encourages citizens from all countries to expand their knowledge and learn how everyone can make a difference. Visit the State Department’s Web site at iew.state.gov to learn more. To see the events taking place in your country, click on “events” from the Web site’s home page.
