Non-Immigrant Visas
Interview day – What to Expect
Visa applicants must enter the compound at the South Gate of the Embassy, next to ISAF headquarters and the RTA building. Visa applicants will not be allowed on the compound if they enter from Massoud Circle.
Applicants must bring their printed appointment confirmation sheet. Applicants without this sheet will not be allowed on to the compound.
All applicants will be screened before coming on to the compound. Weapons are not allowed. Cell phones will also be confiscated at the security check-point and will be returned to you after your appointment.
Once screening is complete, applicants will be directed to the Consular Lobby for their interview.
INTERVIEW STEPS
Once in the Consular lobby, follow the following steps:
1. Take a ticket from the machine to the right of the door. You will not be interviewed if you don’t have a numbered ticket.
2. Proceed to the cashier and pay the fee required for your visa appointment.
3. Get your fingerprints taken.
4. Sit and wait until an officer calls you to the window for your interview. Interviews will be conducted in English, Dari or Pashto, as needed.
