Interview Day – What to Expect
Visa applicants must enter the compound at the South Gate of the Embassy, next to ISAF headquarters and the RTA building. Visa applicants will not be allowed on the compound if they try to enter from Massoud Circle.
Applicants must bring their printed appointment confirmation sheet. Applicants without this sheet will not be allowed onto the compound.
All applicants will be screened before coming onto the compound. Weapons are not allowed. You will be required to leave all electronic devices, including cell phones, at the security check-point. They will be returned to you after your appointment.
Once screening is complete, applicants will be directed to the Consular Lobby for their interview.
Once in the Consular lobby, follow the following steps:
- Proceed to the cashier and pay the required visa application fee.
- Get your fingerprints taken.
- Have a seat in the waiting area and wait until an officer calls you to the window for your interview. Interviews will be conducted in English, Dari, or Pashto, as needed.
