U.S. Congressional Delegation Meets with Senior Afghan Political Leaders
“A U.S. Congressional delegation including Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ), Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL), Representative Jane Harman (D-CA), Representative Jon Kline (R-MN), and Representative Chris Carney (D-PA) and accompanied by Deputy Ambassador Francis Ricciardone and Deputy Chief of Mission Christopher Dell, met with Afghan political leaders on April 7. During the meeting, they discussed the current situation in Afghanistan with Afghan senior political leaders Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Dr. Anwar-ul-haq Ahadi, and Mr. Mirwais Yasini. The congressional delegation was visiting Afghanistan in order to deepen their understanding of the region and express their support to the people of Afghanistan.”
