Welcome to the Consular Section of U.S. Embassy Kabul. The Consular Section provides a variety of services, both routine and emergency, for U.S. citizens, Afghans, and other foreign nationals resident in Afghanistan. Our normal hours of operation are Sunday-Thursday, 8:00am-4:00pm; we close for lunch between 12:00-1:00 pm. All routine services require an appointment, which can be scheduled through the links on our Citizen Services and Visas pages.
For emergencies involving a U.S. citizen (e.g. arrest, serious injury, death, etc.), a consular officer is available 24 hours a day and can be reached by phone.
