Approved Air Carriers for U.S. Embassy Personnel
International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) inspectors working in coordination with the Afghan Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation have recently completed safety audits of several Afghan Airlines. The results of those inspections have compelled the U.S. Embassy to re-evaluate its standing authorization for which air carriers it is permitted to use. Embassy personnel are authorized to travel only on the following airlines. The Consular Section wishes to provide this updated list to the American Citizen community in Afghanistan:
Safi Airways
Pakistani International Airlines (PIA)
Air India/Indian Airlines
UNHAS/Eastern Skyjet
